A Decentralized Power Allocation Strategy for Dynamically Forming Multiple Hybrid Energy Storage Systems Aided With Power Buffer

Multiple hybrid energy storage systems (HESSs) consisting of batteries and super-capacitors (SCs) are widely used in DC microgrids to compensate for the power mismatch. According their specific characteristics, SCs low-frequency high-frequency mismatches, respectively. This paper proposes a decentralized allocation strategy dynamically forming multiple HESSs aided with novel buffer. The buffer is device combing capacitor bidirectional DC-DC converter, it as an interface between bus, allowing easy Plug-and-Play different units effective efficient allocation. First, split mismatch into part modified I-V droop control. Then transfers compensation based on respective state-of-charges (SoCs), while dealt by directly. new scheme further allows elimination bus voltage deviations. Finally, real-time hardware-in-loop (HIL) tests three case studies confirm effectiveness proposed control strategy.
